Recent photos sent back by the Dawn spacecraft show we were wrong about the two mysterious bright spots on the surface of dwarf planet Ceres. The two spots actually consist of a multitude of smaller lights and many more can be found all over Ceres’ surface. Something else has made an appearance as well.
As Dawn orbited above the crater where the first anomalies were spotted, it photographed what appears to be a UFO performing maneuvers that would suggest it’s intelligently controlled.
The object follows a semicircular path which is very different from the trajectory of space debris, indicating it’s not a meteor. It could be a camera glitch or it could be something different altogether.
Over the next few months we’ll get the chance to find out, as Dawn continues to close in on Ceres. In the mean time, we can only speculate and NASA is well aware of that. They’ve even set up a poll on their website, where people can vote on what the bright objects really are. Almost 4 out of 10 people believe the explanation is “Other.”
