Are we alone in the universe? That has been the question on everyone’s mind and for the past year, NASA is getting closer to an answer. Apparently, they found a new planet with liquid water. If true, the discovery would make Planet X the closest planet to Earth that has signs of life.
PLANET X HAS SUN JUST LIKE EARTH
The key to Planet X is that it’s near what NASA calls, Proxima Centauri. This is a red dwarf star that’s about the size of Jupiter. Furthermore, Proxima is older than our sun by a couple of hundred million years. Since Earth could develop life in its amount of time, think of what something far older could accomplish. However, a dilemma arises.
FRIED ALIENS ON PLANET X; EARTH IS MORE HABITABLE
The one downside to living near a star like Proxima Centauri is the weather. Apparently, the star is prone to violent flare up. NASA can tell this as the star has sudden changes in brightness that can be seen from Earth. That could make things a little difficult on Planet X. However, that also doesn’t mean that life couldn’t adapt. For all we know, these aliens could have evolved to resist these harsh flares and enjoy life in a flaming desert Hell world.
STEPHEN HAWKING TO SEND SHIP FROM EARTH TO PLANET X
While the exciting new planet is still quite far, the government still plans to send out an explorer of sorts. Teaming up with Stephen Hawking, a tiny spacecraft will be sent out to the Centauri system. According to Hawking, the tiny craft will take about 20 years to get there. If you think that’s too long, it’s travelling at 1/5th the speed of light. Certainly nothing to scoff at. What they will find up there is anybody’s guess. If there is something there, though, the next step will be to hunt for life in the system.
