A set of newly-released photos detail the U.S. Navy’s close encounter with an enormous UFO.
The case was submitted to The Black Vault by researcher Alex Mistretta, who in turn got photos from one of his anonymous sources in Europe. An interesting story follows the attached pictures.
In March of 1971, the USS Trepang, a Sturgeon Class attack submarine, was on a routine military and scientific mission at the edge of the Arctic Ocean.
To further investigate, Mistretta enlisted the help of someone to post pictures in hopes that and others may be able to find out more about the images.
The images that were found are fantastic. They seem to be of large objects aloft over the ocean, some, if not all, taken from the periscope of a submarine. The big question is are they real, and if so, what are they?
The exact location of the sighting is unknown, but the submarine’s position was estimated between Iceland and the Jan Mayen island in the Atlantic.
The unidentified object was first spotted through the periscope by an officer named John Kilika while the photos were taken by the officer who accompanied him, who remains anonymous. The photos are high-quality enough to observe what is going on, which is uncommon in the field of ufology.
