The Cassini spacecraft orbiting Saturn’s moon, Titan has managed to capture some truly astonishing images. Earlier this year, it caught a glimpse of a mysterious structure glinting on the surface of the otherwise mirror-sooth surface of the methane sea. By the time Cassini returned in orbit over that spot, the object had disappeared.
Scientists were puzzled by this occurrence but recently, two more similar structures were photographed. They believe the formations could be islands that pop up and vanish but this phenomenon remains unexplained. What could they be?
